McIvor Farrell solicitor Paul Farrell has been representing campaign group Safe Electricity Armagh and Tyrone (SEAT) in their challenge over the lawfulness of decision to approve the North-South Interconnector.

The challenge centres on legislation which enabled the Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon to give the green light to the planning application without taking it to her Executive colleagues.

Mr Farrell claimed the new legislation goes against “the principles of cross-community support and coalition government enshrined within the Good Friday Agreement”.

The case will continue in early 2021.
